Elliott Rodgers (Cathedral) vs Cooper Noehre III (Greenfield-Central)

Breakdown: This award goes out to what we view as the most exciting, back and forth match of the state tournament.

Description: There were a few matches that had exciting finishes at this years state finals. One being at 220 where AJ Fowler down late puts Lawson Aiken to his back to secure the fall at the end of the match. There were also some fireworks in 160 finals where Jordan Slivka did what he does and makes a crazy 3rd period comeback to secure his 2nd consecutive state title over Donnell Washington. However, the match that we thought most deserved this award was the third match between Cathedral's Elliott Rodgers and Greenfield-Central's Copper Noehre. This match saw Noehre go up 3-0 in the second and nearly pin Rodgers only to have have Rodgers come back to send it to overtime. In overtime Rodgers goes big on an inside trip to secure the takedown and a state championship for the Fighting Irish.
