Brody Baumann (Evansville Mater Dei) vs Robert Major (Carmel)

Breakdown: This award goes out to what we view as the most exciting, back and forth match of the state tournament.

Description: The winner of this is a no-brainer, in my opinion, with Brody Baumann and Robert Major lighting up the scorebard in a great match under the lights. You don't see a whole lot of spladles or double over throws in the state finals, and this match provided us with both along with seven reverals and three sets of near fall. The first period was dominated by Baumann, who scored two takedowns and a rideout. In the second, Baumann scores an early reveral only to be reveresed by Major, who then turns Baumann for a two count, before scoring a reversal of his own. The thrid period was crazy as well with both wrestlers scroing back to back reversals before Major hits a spladle for 2-and-2 to take the lead ith 16 seconds left in the match. This gave Major the 11-10 lead with 16 seconds left, then Baumann bombs him to his back with double overs for 5, securing the state title with a 15-11 win.
