Anthony Walker

Greenwood

Description: This award is awarded to the wrestler that we feel improved the most from last season.

Breakdown: Greenwood’s Anthony Walker is the winner of this years Hoosiermat Most Improved Wrestler. Walker was a regional qualifier a year ago and has jumped levels this year and got on the podium in his junior season. Walker was a conference champ as well as a sectional champion. He finished 2nd at the regional and picked up a big win in the ticket round to punch his ticket. Walker dominated a semi-state champion on Friday night to earn his spot on the podium. East Centrals Bryer Hall could’ve gotten this award as well, going from ticket round to the finals, but Bryer has been good since his freshman year so it felt disingenuous to give it to him.
