INDIANAPOLIS - Colton Gonzalez of the Marian wrestling team has been named the American Midwest Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. The award is the first of his career at Marian.

Gonzalez won the 184 weight class at Little State on Saturday. He went 4-0 and defeated a pair of Top 15 wrestlers in the process. Two of his wins came by major decision and then he beat No. 15 Eric Vermillion by a 10-5 decision before beating No. 9 Avery Jones by an 11-4 decision to win the tournament.

He and the Knights compete at the Warrior Duals at Indiana Tech on Saturday.
