SAMS NAMED GLVC W.O.W.
INDIANAPOLIS- For the second week in a row, a UIndy Greyhound is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Wrestler of the Week, with Andrew Sams earning the conference honor this week.
Sams, currently ranked #7 in the NWCA Coaches Rankings at 174, bested #2 Josh Jones of McKendree in GLVC action Sunday. This is the fifth career GLVC Wrestler of the Week honor for Sams, who earned his first four nods prior to transferring to UIndy from Bellarmine. The last time Sams was the GLVC Wrestler of the Week was Feb. 6, 2019.
Sams joins Jack Eiteljorge in earning the GLVC Wrestler of the Week honor for the Hounds this season, with Eiteljorge getting the nod last week.
The Greyhounds return to the mat this weekend for a trio of duals at Lake Erie. No. T7 UIndy takes on the host Storm, #10 Ashland and Davenport as a part of the Saturday event.
