JaJuan Anderson
Warren Central
Description: This award is given to the wrestler who came out of nowhere to make it to the state tournament.
Breakdown: This year’s wrestler that really had a breakout year was Warren Central’s JaJuan Anderson. Anderson was solid all year and capped off a great first season with a runner-up finish at the Bank. Anderson was behind a 2-time state placer the past two seasons. He made the most when he got his chance though. Anderson had several ranked wins this year and rose up to 6th in the final rankings. He picked up a sectional title before falling to the eventual state champ at regionals. Anderson settled for 3rd at semi-state. At Banker’s Life, he gutted out a tough overtime match Friday just to make the podium. Congratulations to JaJuan Anderson for being this year Hoosiermat Breakout Wrestler Award winner.
