RECENT COMMITMENTS

Evansville Mater Dei's Alec Freeman has committed to the Hoosiers of Indiana. Freeman is a 3-time state placer, fiinshing 3rd as a sophomore, 5th as a junior, and 2nd this season. Freeman is projected to be a 141 at the collegiate level.

Tristan Vaughn, Harrison (WL), has committed to wrestle for Trine next season. Vaughn was a state qualifier, and is projected to be a 125 at the collegiate level.

Cody LeCount has been named the new head coach at Delta High School. As a wrestler, LeCount lost just 2 matches in high school and walked away with 2 state titles along with a runner-up finish. As a coach LeCount has been a big part of the resurgence of the Carmel wrestling program the past few seasons.

Zionsville's Shane Bates has committed to wrestle for the Greyhounds of Indianapolis next fall. Bates is a 2-time state qualifer, fiinshing 6th this season. Bates is projected to be a 165 at the collegiate level.

New Palestine's Christian White is following his brother and heading to West Lafayette next fall to wrestle for the Boilermakers. White is a 2-time state qualfier, placing 5th in 2020. White is projected to be a 133 at the collegiate level.

Crown Point's Alexie Westfall has committed to twrestle next year for the Warriors of Indiana Tech. Westfall is.a 4-time IHSGW state placer, finishing 3rd and 6th in 2018 and 2020, and winning it in 2019 and this season. Westfall is projected to be a 101 at the collegiate level.

Ben Davis's Kailan Keith has committed to Thomas More. Keith was a semi-state qualifer for the Giants. Keith projects to be a 157/165 at the collegiate level.

Lutheran's Hayden Filipovich has committed to wrestle for the Boilermakers of Purdue next fall. Filipovich is a 2-time state placer, fiinshing 7th in 2020 before finding the top of the podium this season. Filipovich is projected to be a 197 at the collegiate level.

Boonville's Jordan Fulks has committed to wreslte for Marian next season. Fulks was a 4th placer in 2020 and is projected to be a 165 at the collegiate level.

Kyler Bills, Carroll (Fort Wayne), is heading north to wrestle for  Trine next year Bills was a semi-state qualifer for the Chargers. Bills is projected to be a 197/285 at the collegiate level.

Mattt Lepper, Carroll (Fort Wayne), is heading to Crawfordsville next year to wrestle for Wabash. Lepper is a 2-time state qualifer. and is projected to be a 197 at the collegiate level.

LaPorte's Jamaal Salary has ommitted to wrestle next year for North Central College. Salary was a state qualifer for the Slicers this season. Salary is projected to be a 165 at the collegiate level.

Penn senior James Smith has committed to wrestle for Wisoncon-Eau Claire next year. Smith was a state qualifier for Penn this past season. Smith projects to be a 149 next season.

Boonville's Hayden Webster has committed to wrestle for West Virginia Tech next fall. Webster is projected to be a 197 at the collegiate level.

Noblesville's Tim Alexander has commited to continue his wrestling career at Ohio Wesleyan University next season. Alexander was a semi-state ticker rounder this past season.  Alexander is projected to be a 149/157 at the collegiate level.

Terre Haute South's Josh Howell has committed to wrestle next season for Trine University. Howell is a 2-time state qualifier, placing 5th this past season. Howell is projected to be a 197/285 at the collegiate level.

LaPorte sophomore Ashton Jackson has been named the Hoosiermat Most Improved Wrestler from last season.

Perry Meridian's Alex Cottey has committed to the Mocs of Chatanooga. Cottey is a 4-time state finalist, finished 2nd in 2018 and 2019, beofre winning it the last two seasons. Cottey is also a Fargo All-American, finishing 7th in 2018. Cottey projects to be a 125 at the next level.

Carmel's Robert Major has committed to the Hoosier of Indiana University. Major was a state qualifier in Illinois a year ago before moving to Indiana where he finished 2nd this year. Major projects to be a 165 at the next level.

Tristan Ruhlman, Bloomington South, is heading to Lafayettte to wrestle for the Boilermakers of Purdue next fall. Ruhlman is a 2-time state placewinner, finishing 5th as a junior before winning a state title thi past season. Ruhlman is projected to be a 197/285 at the collegiate level.

Jared Brown, Pendlton Heights, has committed to wrestle for the Knights of Marian next year. Brown is a 3-time state qualifier for the Arabians. Brown is projected to be a 141 at the next level.

Boonville's RJ Mueller has committed to wrestle for Central Methodist next year. Mueller was a semi-state qualfier a year ago. Mueller projects to be a 165 at the next level.

Gavinn Alstott, Floyd Central, has committed to wrestle at Wabash next year Alstott is a 3-time state qualifier, placing 4th as a sophomore. Alstott is projected to wrestle 141 at the next level.

Columbus East's Sam Morrill has committed to wrestle for the Greyhound of Indianapolis next year. Morrill is a 2-time state placer for the Olympians, finished 7th as a junior and 2nd this season. Morrill projects to be a 165 at the college level.

The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced its athletes of the week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 31, with Wartburg College wrestler Kris Rumph (Jr., Portage, Ind.) named the Wrester of the Week.

For the third week in a row, a UIndy wrestler has earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday.Blubaugh, a redshirt freshman, improved to 6-2 on the week with a 3-0 weekend at Lake Erie's Storm Duals.

Zionsville's Logan Wagner has committed to wrestle next season for the Knights of Marian University. Wagner is a 3-time state placewinner for Zionsville, placing 8th in 2018, 6th in 2019 and 3rd last season. Wagner projects to be a 141/149 in college.
